Requests service
Lost or damaged items
Lost or damaged items are charged at the cover price listed on the Library Management System. If no charges are listed on the Library Management System, the prices below apply.
- There are no charges for loss or damage to any category of children’s stock.
- Charges will only be waived in exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of the service.
- Replacement copies are not accepted.
- Items of non-standard value e.g., art books, local history items will be individually assessed by a senior member of staff.
- Overdue items that are not returned after 56 days will be considered lost and will incur charges as outlined below, where the cover price is not listed on the Library Management System.

Music and drama
Vocal, orchestral, and play sets are loaned by the month. Single copies of vocal scores, libretti, or plays are free, unless requested via post, in which case postage and packing charges apply.
Interlibrary loans: customers must cover any additional costs incurred if charges exceed our standard rates.
Postage: Music orders via Parcelforce 24/48 hour service and priced by number of parcels.
Drama loans are posted in line with Royal Mail Large Letter (£3) and Small Parcel charges (£5.25), and are calculated by weight.
Returns via post: All items should be returned via Royal Mail special delivery or traceable courier.

We will agree the parameters of the research and response time before starting a search. After one look-up, research is charged at the rates below (per 30 minutes) even if no results are found. A list of sources can be provided on request. The research fee does not include the supply of materials.
