With a child’s library membership, they can:

  • borrow up to 20 books

  • get eBooks and audiobooks with Borrowbox

  • read comics and magazines with Libby

  • explore dyslexia friendly collections and books designed for reluctant readers

Events and regular sessions

We run a wide range of events for children and families across 34 libraries in Leeds.

Story and Rhyme sessions for under-fives run across Leeds. Some libraries also run Bounce and Rhyme sessions for pre-crawling babies.

Summer Reading Challenge

The annual Summer Reading Challenge encourages children aged 4-11 to enjoy the benefits of reading for pleasure during the summer holidays. Children are encouraged to visit their local library over the summer, become an active member and read six books.
