Create your own thimble and beautiful piece of Sashiko embroidery over the course of two weeks
Sashiko is a Japanese textile art form used to reinforce and embellish fabrics with hand stitched repeating patterns. Together we will learn to make a uniquely personal Sashiko thimble from scrap denim and how to subsequently repair textiles using Sashiko sewing techniques.
Your mending teacher, Lorna, will guide you step by step and show you tips and tricks to create a beautiful piece of wearable, sustainable art. If you have an item of denim please feel free to bring it along, otherwise all materials will be provided.
Suitable for those with some sewing experience.
Refreshments and materials included.
